Hate or Love it

Started my first day of FTD today. Damn! I hate having to sit in a classroom and learn about stuff I'm gonna be doing outside. Hopeful after the first week, we'll spend a lot more time out on the flightline. That's where it goes DOWN!



Its funny to see that everybody who isn't a Crew Chief, wants to be a crew chief. They seem to be fascinated with our profession. It kinda makes me feel like I'm even more important than I might be.



I was told the reason everybody has a love/hate relationship with crew chiefs is because if you tell somebody that you're in the Air Force, the first thing they assume is that you're a pilot. Then you say no...I fix the plane...they instantly become intrigued by that.



It makes perfect sense...you either "fly or fix". Other Air Force personnel kinda hate that fact. You can be a nurse anywhere...a cop anywhere...a accountant anywhere!
